Environment and Waste Management

In addition to the growing population, increasing economic standards and production amount create more energy and material consumption. Resource consumption, which has accelerated in the last decades, has triggered economic growth and raised life standards in industrialized countries.But this situation reduces natural resources such as forests, clean water and air, and the planet’s biodiversity. Moreover, everything consumed returns as waste.

Our motivation is to develop sustainable environment and waste management systems to create more livable cities

Method

General urban waste management concepts,

Industrial cleaner production policies,

Creating waste management concepts

For example, open and green spaces have an important role in the development of the city of Vienna. Today, open and green areas gain a central area in cities as they serve as urban infrastructure.

Vienna’s open space planning is based on the continuous development of urban cityscapes, the need for green space for everyday life and the development of green and open spaces as an infrastructure element.

By 2025, space needs to be provided for close to 120,000 residential units of Vienna. The city of Vienna aims to create greater functional density with minor interventions and improvements to develop the lively city concept.

This not only means less land consumption for new buildings, but also short distances and multiple facilities supporting environmentally friendly modes of transport in the immediate vicinity.

In doing so, it aims to develop neighborhood and neighborhood structures that contribute to reducing the ecological footprint of residents, based on the experience of low energy and passive home standards.
